The Graphics Research Group is always on a lookout for bright and motivated students to work with us on challenging research problems within graphics and geometry.

We invite Ph.D. applications within the areas of visual analytics, rendering, animation, virtual/augmented reality, and geometry. Motivated candidates with excellent academic background and sound knowledge in graphics, geometry, applied mathematics, CS fundamentals, and machine learning will be given preference. You may send your CV by email to ojaswa@iiitd.ac.in with subject “Application for Ph.D.”

B.Tech. and M.Tech. students interested in doing their thesis in the above areas are encouraged to apply by sending an email to ojaswa@iiitd.ac.in with subject “Application for B.Tech./M.Tech. thesis project”. Note that you must have done a basic (and regular) course on Computer Graphics (for example CSE 333/533 offered at IIIT Delhi) and possess good background in mathematics, CS fundamentals and programming. Additionally, courses like Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Computational Geometry, Machine Learning, Deep Learning will be helpful.

Ph.D. position in Gamification for Learning

Graphics Research Group (GRG) and HMI Lab at IIIT-Delhi invite applications for the position of 1 Ph.D. for working on “Gamification for Learning” under Dr. Ojaswa Sharma and Dr. Jainendra Shukla. Candidates having excellent academic record and a keen interest in research are encouraged to apply.

Gamification of learning provides better engagement and understanding. The availability of a rich set of software tools opens up opportunities for developing interactive and engaging content and designing various other enabling technologies. The gamification of any content requires significant human expertise in designing, and animation. This is typically quite expensive and time consuming. Further, the user experience of the gamified content in its current state fails to leverage the multimodal approach that could utilize the traditional animations and the new media technologies, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The objective of this research project is to investigate gamification of education content and develop a framework for automated (or semi-automated) educational content authoring using current computer graphics, computer vision, and AI/ML techniques. Such a framework will support stakeholders, such as teachers in high school, for efficiently developing gamified educational content
