Senior Researcher

The Graphics Research Group (GRG) is inviting applications for the position of Senior Researcher for a project on AI-assisted medical image analysis and visualisation. This project aims to transform medical imaging analysis using AI-based algorithms, enhancing 3D MRI and CT scan visualisation with improved details and diagnostic accuracy. Employing style transfer colorisation and 3D segmentation, the project will enable selective visualisation and augmented reality display. The project seeks to empower healthcare professionals with automated, accurate, and comprehensive analysis of medical images for better patient care.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing Deep Learning (DL) algorithms for 3D image analysis problems, including but not limited to detail enhancement, colorisation, and segmentation,
  • Prototyping in Pytorch, training, and testing,
  • Developing utilities for pre and post processing of 3D images in C/C++, Python, and
  • Developing prototype application for visualisation of outcomes of the DL algorithms.

The right candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • B.Tech. degree in Computer Science with CGPA >= 7.5/10.0
  • Research experience of 2+ years with proven record of publications
  • Solid foundations in linear algebra, data structures and algorithms. Excellent programming skills in C/C++ and Python
  • Understanding and hands-on experience of DL models like CNN, Vision Transformers, NeRF, and Diffusion.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Fast learner

Candidates having exceptionally good academic record and a keen interest in research are encouraged to apply.

To apply, fill-up and submit the form: https://forms.gle/52wMc2rSMe5NCNQe8

Last date to apply: 27 August 2023, however the position will fill as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

Ph.D. position

The Graphics Research Group is always on a lookout for bright and motivated students to work with us on challenging research problems within graphics and geometry.

We invite Ph.D. applications within the areas of visual analytics, rendering, animation, virtual/augmented reality, and geometry. Motivated candidates with excellent academic background and sound knowledge in graphics, geometry, applied mathematics, CS fundamentals, and machine learning will be given preference. You may send your CV by email to ojaswa@iiitd.ac.in with subject “Application for Ph.D.”

B.Tech./M.Tech. thesis

B.Tech. and M.Tech. students interested in doing their thesis in the above areas are encouraged to apply by sending an email to ojaswa@iiitd.ac.in with subject “Application for B.Tech./M.Tech. thesis project”. Note that you must have done a basic (and regular) course on Computer Graphics (for example CSE 333/533 offered at IIIT Delhi) and possess good background in mathematics, CS fundamentals and programming. Additionally, courses like Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Computational Geometry, Machine Learning, Deep Learning will be helpful.
